Shape-Shifting & Witnessing: ReclaimYour Story Without Rules

don Miguel Ruiz

In this teaching, don Miguel Ruiz describes shape-shifting not as supernatural animal transformation but as a spiritual practice of witnessing your belief system and story without imposing it on others, while trusting your inner self to guide you. By releasing judgment, respecting others' freedom to believe what they choose, and actively changing the character of your life story, you reclaim personal power and live with passion, imagination, and celebration—free from the fear that binds most people to roles they never chose.

What Is Real Shape-Shifting?

Don Miguel Ruiz opens with a clarification that cuts through superstition. Shape-shifting, he explains, is not the mythological ability to transform your body into an animal. Instead, it is a real spiritual capacity: the ability to witness your own belief system and story without clinging to them as tools of control. "When you have your story, your belief system, and you don't care to rule the world with it but to understand with it, you put that belief system behind you and you begin witnessing what's in front of you" (around 41s). This shift—from wielding beliefs as weapons to using them as lenses for understanding—is the foundation of shape-shifting.

The practice involves observing how others operate: what they believe, when they open their hearts, when they close them. Rather than imposing your worldview on the world, you become fluid, respectful, and attentive. You move through different worlds and belief systems not to conquer them but to honor them. This mirrors the concept of the jaguar in Ruiz's teaching: the jaguar does not impose itself on the forest; the jaguar trusts itself and moves with the environment.

How Does Judgment Bind Us to Fear?

The teaching emphasizes a paradox: most people who judge others are actually ruled by fear. Those who fear judgment are the ones most likely to judge others harshly. "So many people, you know, project to other people what they're doing; some other people, you know, are fearful and want to manipulate other people so they do what they want them to do to feel safe" (around 112s). This projection is a defense mechanism—a way of reasserting control when the self feels threatened.

The antidote is trust in your inner self. When you trust yourself fully, you no longer need to manipulate or judge others into conforming to your story. You recognize that everyone has their own guide—their inner self—and that guide is trustworthy. "So when we trust yourself and you live your life with no judgments, how can you be afraid of anybody's story?" (around 183s). In other words, when you stop judging, you stop needing to fear judgment.

Respecting Life in All Forms

Ruiz illustrates this principle through a touching story about a spider in his bathroom. He could have killed it, but instead he observed it with respect. Over time, the spider's fear diminished; it recognized that Ruiz was not a threat. "Every time I saw it, it gave me the reflection that I put out there—respecting its life" (around 147s). The spider became a mirror: a lesson in how respect and non-judgment affect even the smallest creatures.

From this small act flows a larger question: if you can respect a spider's right to exist in its own space without harming it, how can you disrespect your brothers and sisters? How can you deny them the right to believe what they believe? The teaching suggests that respect for life is not an abstract ideal; it is a daily practice that begins with the smallest creatures and extends to all beings.

Every Day Is a New Year: Changing Your Story

Ruiz shifts the conversation to personal agency. While many people speak of New Year's resolutions, Ruiz points out that "every day is a new year, every day is a new life" (around 220s). This means every morning offers the opportunity to change the character of your story—not through willpower alone, but through awareness and decision.

The key is to recognize that you are the author and the protagonist of your life. "What if you wake up today, seeing the story of your life, knowing that you can change it and make whatever you want of your story of your life—to do whatever you want with it, to express yourself how you want to do it, to love whatever you want to love, to be whoever you want to be?" (around 220s). This is not recklessness; it is alignment with your truth.

Ruiz emphasizes that this freedom comes with a choice: you can dress as you wish, pursue what you love, and live according to your heart. If some people judge you, that is their dream, not yours. Those who judge harshly are often the ones who wanted to do something similar but lacked the courage. "People who really want to do that and they don't dare to do that because they believe all these judgments—those are the people who will judge us" (around 249s).

Perfection Through Mistakes and Awareness

A radical claim in this teaching: you are already perfect, including your mistakes. "I'm perfect with the mistakes that I have done in the past, the mistakes that I will do in the future, and the mistakes that I'm doing now" (around 282s). This is not a license to be careless; rather, it acknowledges that mistakes are the raw material of learning. When you realize you are making a mistake, you have the ability to change the story.

The practice is to wake up with awareness in situations that no longer serve you. If you are in a relationship that inspires you to be your worst self, and you fight with this person in a living nightmare, the solution is not to stay and suffer. It is to "stand up for your ground and say I don't want to live this story anymore" (around 314s). This is not abandonment; it is honoring both yourself and the other person by refusing to continue a destructive narrative.

Imagination, Passion, and the Power of Explosion

Ruiz invokes Albert Einstein: "Imagination is more powerful than knowledge." Within imagination, you find your passion. When you combine imagination and passion and take action, something transformative occurs. "When you put the passion of your life into the things that you love to do and we take action, time stops" (around 351s). Why? Because you are no longer clock-watching or suffering through obligation; you are celebrating.

The metaphor of diet coke and mentos illustrates the point: when you pour passion into action, there is an explosion of energy and aliveness. This is what the shaman celebrates—not gloom or complaint, but the sheer fact of being alive. Ruiz cautions against turning shamanic practice itself into an obsession, a way of avoiding trust. "It can become an obsession to not live in trust like the jaguar spirit" (around 665s). The jaguar does not ritualize fear; the jaguar lives in trust and meets whatever comes.

The Jaguar Spirit: Trust and Centeredness

The jaguar is a recurring symbol in Ruiz's teaching. It represents a being that is centered, trusts itself, and does not lose that centeredness when life throws challenges. "When you live and trust by the jaguar spirit, no matter what life throws at you, you know that it is still life" (around 391s). There is no separation between the challenge and life itself; both are the energy and experience you are here to meet.

The jaguar does not dramatize or victimize itself. It knows that emotion, feeling, action, and reaction are constants. When centered, you can witness your own creation. If you do not like your story, you have the power to change it. "It's time to give power to the main character of this story and change it, because that's our hero, and guess what, the hero is not outside of us" (around 438s). You are not waiting for a knight in shining armor; you are the hero of your own story.

The Garden of Dreams: Collective Dreaming

Ruiz introduces the concept of the "garden of dreams" as a way of understanding the shared reality we co-create. "The dream of the planet is a living whole being that creates and sucks energy, and the more we create with energy and put it there, it is a multi-created dream" (around 475s). This is not a poetic metaphor alone; it is a description of how individual consciousness contributes to collective reality.

When you put your dream on the table—when you live authentically and create with intention—you are adding to the garden. The question becomes: what do we want to offer? What dream do we want to cultivate together? This shifts the focus from personal gain to collective responsibility, while maintaining that your own alignment and truth-telling is the foundation.

We Are All One: The Cell and the Body

Near the end, Ruiz articulates a fundamental insight: "I just say brothers and sisters because that's how I was domesticated to call you guys, but I know that you're just another part of me. Like if I was a cell in a body and you were another cell in that body, we know that we're both working for the same body" (around 438s). This is not mystical abstraction; it is a coherent way of understanding interconnection.

If you are a cell in a larger body, harming another cell harms the whole. Respecting another cell is respecting yourself. Believing in another's capacity to trust their own inner self is believing in the capacity of the whole. This reframes ethics not as external rules but as recognition of fundamental unity.

Where to Go From Here

The teaching invites practice: begin to witness your own belief system without defending it. Notice when you judge others and ask yourself what fear you are protecting. Practice respect for all beings, starting small—even a spider in your bathroom. Change one character trait in your story today. Identify a situation where you are sacrificing yourself for others' comfort and ask: am I willing to stop? Imagine what you would do if you trusted yourself completely. Then take one action toward that vision. Finally, contribute to the garden of dreams by living your truth and offering your authentic dream to the collective table.

[0:03] good morning

[0:06] we are alive

[0:10] alive to perceive and witness a story

[0:12] being told

[0:14] the story of our own life when we begin

[0:17] witnessing

[0:18] our story from out-of-body experience

[0:21] from the third attention

[0:22] from the dream of the impersonal point

[0:24] of view to take care of the love of our

[0:26] life

[0:27] no matter what happens in life we're

[0:29] here to serve no matter what illusion

[0:31] comes

[0:32] or what separation story try to separate

[0:34] from one another

[0:35] especially from the inner self and then

[0:38] i begin

[0:39] having the awareness of what really a

[0:41] shape-shifter it is

[0:42] a shape-shifter they say in the

[0:45] superstition that you can transform

[0:46] yourself into whatever

[0:48] animal you want or to anything you want

[0:50] physically it's just

[0:52] superstition it's a real shape-shifting

[0:54] it is

[0:56] when you have your story your belief

[0:58] system and you don't care

[1:00] to rule the world with it but to

[1:02] understand with it

[1:04] you put that belief system behind you

[1:07] and you begin witnessing what's in front

[1:09] of you how people

[1:11] are having conversations what people's

[1:13] belief they

[1:14] are what is it they believe that they

[1:16] open their heart and close their heart

[1:17] you know if we want to rule with our

[1:19] story we will everybody is to feel safe

[1:21] but we're safe no matter what because we

[1:23] have the love of our life and we are

[1:24] supporting the love of our life because

[1:26] everything it is

[1:27] us so when we begin witnessing this

[1:29] beautiful chief shifting dream

[1:30] we begin to shape shifting let's see how

[1:32] they talk in this language

[1:34] let's see how they speak in this world

[1:36] because this world is not my world

[1:38] i have to respect this world and how

[1:39] they live in but i

[1:41] also have heart and mirrors

[1:45] when we have heart and mirrors in life

[1:48] we go everywhere

[1:49] just reflecting our true self so many

[1:51] people

[1:52] you know project to other people what

[1:54] they're doing some other people

[1:55] you know are fearful and want to

[1:57] manipulate other people so they do what

[1:58] they want them to do to feel safe but in

[2:00] reality

[2:01] one day we're not gonna be here and

[2:04] today

[2:05] i had a little funeral for my little

[2:07] friend it was a little spider

[2:10] but this little spider you know it was

[2:12] in my bathroom

[2:13] he saw me it's witness it began running

[2:16] the first time but then later i left it

[2:17] alone

[2:18] because it wasn't only myspace it was

[2:20] despite her space you know and i was

[2:23] this big giant where he had fear

[2:25] but little by little i let it know i'm

[2:27] not the one you have to fear

[2:29] i'm here as light as you are am i my own

[2:32] business you mind your own business the

[2:33] patron is ours you know

[2:34] but you know every time i saw it it gave

[2:37] me

[2:38] the reflection that i put out there

[2:40] respecting its life

[2:43] and today you know it was already

[2:45] prospect he gave me a big lesson when he

[2:47] was alive and he has no awareness he did

[2:49] but to respect life because if i can

[2:51] respect the little spider in the

[2:53] bathroom

[2:54] life how can i respect my brothers and

[2:56] sisters

[2:57] life in this world to let them believe

[2:59] what they want to believe

[3:01] at the end of the day we all have a

[3:03] guide and the guide it is our inner self

[3:05] that

[3:06] believes and trust itself no matter what

[3:08] that's why when you trust

[3:09] yourself and you live your life with no

[3:12] judgments

[3:14] how can you be afraid of anybody's story

[3:17] you begin being aware what story you

[3:20] don't want to live

[3:21] in but doesn't mean you have to live

[3:22] with fear you just say i don't want that

[3:25] could you imagine waking up this year

[3:27] especially

[3:28] it's the year resolution they talk about

[3:30] you know

[3:31] but you know every day is a new year

[3:33] every day is a new life but what if

[3:35] you wake up today seeing the story of

[3:37] your life knowing that you can change it

[3:40] and make whatever you want of your story

[3:42] of your life

[3:43] to do whatever you want with it to

[3:45] express yourself how

[3:46] you want to do it to love whatever you

[3:48] want to love to be whoever you want to

[3:50] be

[3:51] remember this life that we have is a

[3:53] gift

[3:54] we don't have to give or give away to

[3:56] somebody else the life experience is for

[3:58] us

[3:58] so let's say you want to dress a certain

[4:01] way and go out in the streets and just

[4:02] say

[4:03] i'm happy dressing this way go do it it

[4:05] makes you happy

[4:06] you know just because it doesn't make

[4:07] other people happy or the other people

[4:09] who really want to do that

[4:11] hear me out people who really want to do

[4:14] that and they don't dare to do that

[4:15] because they believe all these judgments

[4:16] those are the people who will judge

[4:18] us and i tell you this for experience

[4:20] and at the end of the day

[4:21] when you go to sleep and you did

[4:23] whatever you wanted to do in your heart

[4:25] and you didn't sacrifice it for nobody's

[4:27] fear

[4:28] we're going beyond it in our own

[4:31] personal life

[4:32] we're going beyond the fear to be

[4:33] perfect for our friends for our spouses

[4:35] for our beloveds for our partners

[4:37] for our family you know we're perfect

[4:39] just the way we are like father said

[4:41] i'm perfect with the mistakes that i

[4:42] have done in the past the mistakes that

[4:44] i will do in the future in the mistakes

[4:45] that i'm doing

[4:46] now because when i realize that i'm

[4:48] doing a mistake i have the ability to

[4:50] change the story of my life to change

[4:52] the character of my life because that

[4:53] brings me awareness they'll say

[4:55] if you wake up having awareness in a

[4:57] relationship that is disrespectful to

[4:59] you

[5:00] and that that inspires you to do the

[5:02] worst of you

[5:03] and then you fight with these people and

[5:05] it's a living nightmare

[5:06] if you have the ability to wake up from

[5:08] that dream with no personal attachment

[5:10] but feeling with love doesn't matter it

[5:12] doesn't mean that you don't feel of

[5:14] course you feel of course we feel

[5:16] but to stand up for your ground and say

[5:18] i don't want to live

[5:20] this story anymore i changed this

[5:22] character of my main story

[5:24] and the new character my main story it

[5:25] will not sacrifice itself

[5:27] it will not doubt itself it will not

[5:30] sacrifice the things that he wants to do

[5:31] in life on the contrary the new

[5:33] character of my life

[5:34] it says i can do whatever i put my mind

[5:37] into like albert einstein says

[5:40] you know imagination is more powerful

[5:42] than the knowledge within my imagination

[5:44] we can find our passion and when we put

[5:46] those two things together

[5:47] it's like an explosion like when you put

[5:49] diet coke and mentos it doesn't

[5:51] explosion so when we put

[5:53] the passion of our life into the things

[5:55] that you know we love to do

[5:56] and we take action time stops why

[5:59] because we're having fun

[6:00] because we're enjoying because we're

[6:02] celebrating and that's the real

[6:04] celebration of the shaman why do i say

[6:08] that

[6:09] because it's celebrating being alive

[6:12] no longer celebrating being dead with a

[6:15] negative story poor me with my negative

[6:17] story i want to come out and celebrate

[6:19] in the shaman circle

[6:20] of drum yes there was a point for that

[6:23] but that can become

[6:24] an obsession to not live in trust like

[6:27] the jaguar spirit

[6:29] so when you live and trust by the jaguar

[6:31] spirit no matter what life throws at you

[6:33] you know that is still life it has no

[6:37] big new things not all new things it's

[6:40] everything has it always has been

[6:42] emotion feeling action reaction so when

[6:45] we get our center

[6:46] and we begin witnessing all our creation

[6:49] if we don't like our story anymore

[6:51] it's time to give power to the main

[6:53] character of this story

[6:54] and change it because that's our hero

[6:56] and guess what the heroes not

[6:58] outside of us we're not waiting for a

[7:00] night and shining hour to save us in a

[7:02] fancy horse you know

[7:04] forget that it's someone else's story

[7:08] and our story is life that saved us

[7:12] it's life that inspire us and what are

[7:15] we brothers and sisters

[7:18] life and i just say brothers and sisters

[7:20] because that's how i was domesticated to

[7:21] call you guys

[7:23] but i know that you're just another part

[7:25] of me like

[7:26] if i was a cell in a body and you were

[7:29] another cell in that body we know that

[7:31] we're both working for the same body

[7:33] and in this world we're working for the

[7:35] same energy we're working for the same

[7:36] box

[7:37] so the garden of dreams

[7:40] the garden of dreams is how i see the

[7:43] dream of the planet

[7:45] the garden of dreams is me dreaming and

[7:47] putting my dreams in the table

[7:49] is your dreaming putting your dreams in

[7:50] the table and it's a garden

[7:52] this table becomes a garden now

[7:55] what is our dream what is not our dream

[7:58] the dream of the planet is a living

[8:00] whole being

[8:01] that creates and sucks energy and the

[8:03] more we create with energy and put it

[8:04] there is a multi-created dream

[8:06] one day we're not gonna be here but

[8:07] we're here right now so what

[8:09] do we want to offer to the table what we

[8:12] want to offer to the sacred ceremony

[8:14] what do we want to offer to the

[8:16] transformation

[8:17] that it will be in an act of power

[8:20] realizing

[8:21] stories that doesn't serve us anymore so

[8:23] we can get those stories disintegrate

[8:25] them straight to the wind

[8:27] and whatever is left of that story is

[8:29] the memory so the memory will be the

[8:31] lessons of wisdom

[8:33] that we will put together in our own

[8:35] experience and go and shape shift

[8:38] i haven't forgotten about the cheap

[8:39] shifting we got shape shifting

[8:43] to our brothers and sisters to our

[8:45] allies to our tribe

[8:47] the reflection they have forgotten

[8:50] because it's the act of power

[8:52] where we shape shifts when we put our

[8:53] story behind and just listen how the

[8:55] world dreams

[8:57] and little by little it's not psychic

[8:58] powers no

[9:00] it's just the ability of trusting the

[9:02] body

[9:03] what it's telling you it's not a big

[9:06] deal

[9:07] you really don't have to study this you

[9:09] just have to take the action

[9:11] to feel the body how is communicating

[9:14] with you beyond the world

[9:16] once you begin feeling that life force

[9:19] you can be

[9:20] begin being aware of all the acts that

[9:22] you do

[9:23] that goes against your body or supports

[9:25] your body make your bodies nervous or

[9:27] anxious or makes your body inspired and

[9:29] powerful

[9:30] so you know our emotions are here for us

[9:35] forever

[9:36] let's live with them just like when i

[9:39] was sleeping with a little spider in my

[9:40] bathroom

[9:41] i don't want to quiet my emotions or

[9:42] pretend it's not there it's there

[9:44] you know the negativity in this world i

[9:46] don't pretend it's not there it's there

[9:48] i was a slave to it it consumed me

[9:52] and consumed me and programmed me

[9:54] domesticated me to do the same thing

[9:57] that i was judged and i began judging so

[9:59] i was lost in that world and then i woke

[10:01] up because i followed the jaguar

[10:03] and the jaguar was in my head and it was

[10:06] in my mind

[10:07] i took the image of the jaguar because

[10:09] my jungle was my mind

[10:11] and that is what i needed to survive my

[10:14] own mind

[10:14] because my mind was full of lies and

[10:16] wounds that they were stopping me

[10:18] paralyzing me

[10:20] with the spirit of the jaguar is pure

[10:22] love

[10:24] and what does it love it's cub because

[10:27] the moment the jaguar gives birth to a

[10:30] new jaguar

[10:32] the whole reality changes it is like

[10:35] when we have awareness and we living and

[10:36] suffering

[10:37] and we pass this teaching to somebody

[10:39] else because somebody else a new

[10:41] apprentice

[10:42] or a child is in front of us the

[10:44] addiction of suffering becomes so clear

[10:46] are we going to give this little cub or

[10:48] this little creature this little human

[10:50] the same poison that we give to

[10:52] ourselves every day and every night

[10:55] and that's when we wake up saying no

[10:57] it's time to change our dream

[10:59] it's time to change our story to

[11:01] whatever we believe

[11:03] in and the point is to not become

[11:05] obsessed and fanatic

[11:06] is to use the story knowing that it's

[11:09] just a story

[11:10] it's not the ultimate truth because

[11:12] inside those stories we'll find gems and

[11:14] tools

[11:15] that we will use to change and work on

[11:17] our own individual dream

[11:19] because at the end of the day my

[11:20] imagination is not yours and your

[11:22] imagination is not mine

[11:24] that's our own gift individually and

[11:26] that's where i called heaven

[11:29] could you imagine having the awareness

[11:31] that you have to give

[11:33] to imagine whatever you want to imagine

[11:36] to dream and to allow yourself to dream

[11:38] without judgment

[11:39] knowing that there is no censorship

[11:42] there is no stopping there's no red

[11:43] flags

[11:44] there is no fear stopping you aware your

[11:46] dreams can lead you and take you to

[11:48] manifest something in this world to

[11:50] bring it into

[11:50] protection and share with your brothers

[11:52] and sisters and that's the art

[11:54] the art from the heart that's why i know

[11:57] that i live in a garden of dreams

[11:59] and everybody's dreaming in that dream

[12:01] and everything is perfect there's no

[12:03] worse or

[12:03] better than it's just pain suffering

[12:07] and happiness what channel

[12:10] of the source of energy do you choose

[12:13] because we all have excuses and

[12:14] justification

[12:16] i remember when i wasn't vegan i'm not

[12:19] here to transform anybody this is my own

[12:20] personal individual dream because i was

[12:22] sick

[12:22] i was taking my body if i didn't follow

[12:24] this i would probably not be dead so i

[12:26] listened to my body it was time to

[12:27] unlearn my old ways but anyways

[12:30] going into this way of life i begin

[12:33] seeing how even that dream is so

[12:35] corrupted

[12:36] when you begin having this dream to take

[12:38] care of life

[12:39] inside of you inside and out it's not

[12:42] that you want to be validated or you

[12:43] give yourself a label

[12:44] it's something that you do because you

[12:46] know you have this choice to take care

[12:47] of your body why not take it

[12:49] and when you begin being loyal to you

[12:52] that gives you strength so let's say

[12:54] i'm five years now into this in a

[12:56] commitment i'm committing giving my word

[12:58] to take care of the love of my life in

[12:59] my own personal dream

[13:01] and i used to hear all the

[13:02] justifications all these excuses are why

[13:05] not to

[13:05] you know why not to you know especially

[13:08] the one

[13:09] i am a jaguar spirited you know i

[13:11] supposed to eat no

[13:12] it was just an excuse when things don't

[13:15] feel good

[13:16] to me anymore it's time to let it go

[13:19] like when i don't feel good in my

[13:20] relationship

[13:21] anymore it's time to let it go and when

[13:23] i say relationship i don't mean a

[13:24] romantic relationship but in any kind of

[13:25] relationship

[13:26] that is sabotaging and this is the

[13:29] important thing of doing

[13:30] when something doesn't serve you anymore

[13:33] to have the epiphany

[13:34] the awareness that doesn't serve your

[13:36] body anymore it's time to let it go

[13:38] and believe me they judge before i was

[13:40] vegan they judge me when i'm vegan and

[13:42] they would judge me after

[13:43] you know if i'm not vegan anymore people

[13:46] who just love to judge

[13:48] that's the same thing you know the other

[13:50] day a friend of mine

[13:52] you know came came out and he was

[13:55] saying how the family didn't appreciate

[13:57] them and it was using that the family to

[13:59] hurt what it really wants but i said

[14:01] you know that's their dream it's not

[14:02] your dream your dream it is to be you

[14:04] to be open-hearted and i tell you one

[14:07] thing they're just living in their own

[14:08] dream

[14:09] a judgment or scared whatever they

[14:10] believe in it's not yours you can never

[14:12] understand what they're going through

[14:13] but look around the smoke around past

[14:16] the illusion

[14:17] they're still alive you love them they

[14:20] love you

[14:21] don't focus on a story that separates

[14:23] you

[14:24] like in these elections how many people

[14:26] separated each other because of politics

[14:28] and

[14:29] we're family you know how come

[14:32] another dream is more powerful than

[14:34] other dream and it goes on and on and on

[14:36] and on

[14:37] and you know i remember one day that i

[14:40] was sitting

[14:41] in the jungle and i began noticing the

[14:44] moon

[14:45] and the moonlight is the goddess inside

[14:48] their eggshell

[14:49] the goddess of the mayan dream the

[14:50] princess so she lives in the moon

[14:53] and i was witnessing that and also

[14:55] seeing a beautiful bunny inside that

[14:57] moon

[14:58] and then i had this whole movie playing

[15:00] my head

[15:01] a dream and i was dreaming that i was

[15:04] climbing this mountain

[15:06] and i was climbing it so roughly i

[15:08] almost felt that i made it to the top

[15:11] and when i made it to the top i saw this

[15:13] beautiful cave

[15:15] and uh and with my hands it was in there

[15:17] and i begin

[15:19] doing this like if my hands were

[15:21] flashlights

[15:22] and i was flashing everywhere and then

[15:24] all of a sudden my cave was illuminated

[15:26] that i come

[15:26] out of the cave and then i was on the

[15:28] edge of the rocks

[15:30] the big mountain and i saw the whole

[15:32] forest in front of me like if it was an

[15:34] ocean of green

[15:35] and then i see the top and i see the

[15:37] infinite stars the infinite sky

[15:39] the infinite colors of obsidian in the

[15:41] sky floating and i begin perceiving

[15:43] the star and nadine of the star was

[15:45] perceiving me i was perceiving the star

[15:47] and said oh my

[15:48] i'm inside of one of my father's books

[15:49] and then and then the trees begin

[15:51] breathing

[15:52] and you know it was everything was

[15:53] coming inside of me and then two little

[15:55] children

[15:56] pulled my clothes my my sweater and said

[16:00] are you our uncle what are you doing it

[16:04] and how are you doing it and then when

[16:07] they said that to me

[16:08] i had a whole memory when i was little

[16:12] and my father was inside of a cave

[16:16] and illuminated with his words and then

[16:18] he was in a mountain

[16:20] and he said i don't know if the stars

[16:21] are perceiving me i'm receiving the

[16:22] stars

[16:23] and i am the lungs of the trees or the

[16:26] trees of the forest are inside of me

[16:28] and i asked my father how you do that

[16:30] and he asked me

[16:32] do you really want to know my son and me

[16:34] without knowing what i was saying

[16:35] yesterday

[16:36] i said yes and this is when the vision

[16:40] began

[16:41] i imagine that he threw me out of the

[16:44] mountain

[16:44] saying i love you so much and

[16:47] a water broke my fall and when i was

[16:51] drowning in the water someone saved me

[16:54] when i came out

[16:55] i wanted to talk to somebody who saved

[16:56] me but there was nobody around

[16:59] so in my dreams i begin screaming who

[17:01] saved me who saved me and the trees

[17:03] began

[17:03] whispering it was the river it was the

[17:07] river

[17:08] the river saved you and said okay

[17:11] i'm going to look for the river and they

[17:13] said that in the river there was a holy

[17:15] person a wise person called the river

[17:16] man

[17:17] said i want to learn everything from

[17:19] this person so

[17:20] i begin looking in my dream for this

[17:22] person i never found it and after

[17:24] months years i was tired i sat under a

[17:28] tree

[17:29] and i crossed my eyes oh you know

[17:32] giving up and then i hear these steps

[17:37] the branches of the trees and the floor

[17:39] are breaking

[17:40] and as i come close i open my eyes and

[17:43] it's this little old man

[17:44] with a cane with a long white beard and

[17:47] white long hair

[17:48] and a hat and says

[17:51] are you looking for the river man i hear

[17:53] the forest whispered to me too that you

[17:55] someone is looking for the river man

[17:58] and i said are you the river man and the

[18:00] old man begin

[18:01] laughing laughing laughing laughing and

[18:03] said if you think i'm the river man

[18:05] you're far away from the river man

[18:07] and then having him being so sad i will

[18:09] never find the river man do you know any

[18:10] story about the river man

[18:12] well i know a story for a river man and

[18:15] it happened long time ago

[18:17] so i sat down with the old man as he

[18:20] began telling the story

[18:21] and as he began telling the story i

[18:23] closed my eyes and i was in a dream

[18:24] inside of a dream

[18:26] and then i began witnessing from the sky

[18:28] point of view

[18:29] it was mean the old man talking in the

[18:32] clouds with nobody at all that we were

[18:34] just witnessing life

[18:35] and it was this beautiful couple in the

[18:38] old

[18:39] mayan land in

[18:42] all chichen itza and it was so beautiful

[18:45] because

[18:46] it was two beautiful people just loving

[18:48] each other since childhood playing

[18:50] they don't care about the superstition

[18:52] or whatever they're doing inside that

[18:53] tribe you know they just care to play

[18:55] and they grew up

[18:57] they got married and one time

[19:00] the the older man

[19:04] the one that was the partner of the

[19:05] woman came back from work

[19:08] and the whole village was painted in

[19:11] blue

[19:11] the door where they live was painted in

[19:14] blue that means that the priests have

[19:15] come

[19:16] and taken people to get sacrificed for

[19:19] the gods

[19:20] and of course he went to his house

[19:22] heartbroken that he wasn't there

[19:24] he went running to the main temple

[19:28] and just saw her body took a piece of

[19:31] cloth

[19:32] and was so upset with the whole night

[19:34] and tragedy he began losing his and

[19:36] you're awful of superstition

[19:37] your fear you're ruled by fear i have

[19:41] nothing to do with you anymore

[19:42] he was so upset he left the tribe of the

[19:45] mayans

[19:47] and he was lost for a long time

[19:51] then in one of the meditations he was

[19:54] having

[19:54] he was so weak he didn't feed himself

[19:58] he went into the river at night and he

[20:01] saw the moonlight and fell

[20:03] hit his head and then he had the image

[20:06] of his beloved

[20:09] she came to him and he was so happy says

[20:13] my love you come to me i give you my

[20:15] word i will never leave you alone i will

[20:17] always protect you

[20:19] i'm here with you i will never leave

[20:20] your sight and

[20:22] she said no my love i'm coming to say

[20:25] goodbye

[20:26] the patch you taken it is in a dark hall

[20:29] of

[20:29] infinite boy

[20:33] where nothing light has will of its own

[20:37] you're going to darkness and using me

[20:39] with you

[20:40] and come here to say goodbye in that

[20:44] moment

[20:45] something happened to the man because

[20:48] love came

[20:49] real love opened his eyes and the real

[20:52] love saying

[20:52] i love my beloved so much that i'm

[20:54] hurting myself

[20:56] this is not the way to love her the way

[20:57] to love her is to take care of this body

[20:59] of her beloved

[21:00] because this is who she loves this is

[21:01] who i am this is who i love

[21:03] and then he came out of the water he

[21:06] breathed and the first thing that it

[21:07] looked was the moon shining down on him

[21:10] and he saw the goddess exhale and he saw

[21:13] lights there

[21:13] is my infinite i will live my life do my

[21:16] purpose in this life

[21:18] as you have made your purpose you woke

[21:19] me up my love i will serve you

[21:22] in everywhere i see life because you are

[21:24] my goddess

[21:25] you're my queen you're my life in that

[21:28] moment

[21:29] he became the real man a powerful priest

[21:32] of the mayan tradition

[21:33] because he saw the whole dream he

[21:35] returned back to his place

[21:37] and he was an agua and

[21:41] across the sea in spain

[21:45] they live a wise powerful man called

[21:48] the good spaniard because he's always

[21:50] loyal to god and it's queen

[21:52] he was retired the queen asked him we

[21:54] have found new land

[21:56] i would like you to get a you know

[21:59] a boat of boats and go lead them to the

[22:02] new land he said of course my queen you

[22:03] asked me i will do

[22:04] so the spaniard went the conquistadors

[22:08] went to the new lands

[22:09] to to invade and the first thing that

[22:12] the river man

[22:13] the another agreement the spanish shot

[22:15] the good spanner began seeing how they

[22:16] were treating everybody

[22:18] how are treating women children and he

[22:20] said i don't want no part of this this

[22:22] is no honor he took the armor off the

[22:24] sword off and he let it go and he went

[22:25] on his own

[22:26] well it didn't take long for him to get

[22:29] trapped

[22:30] he got trapped he got tortured

[22:33] and he got left to not eat you know left

[22:35] to die in a little box

[22:37] and then the river man the wise you know

[22:39] priests

[22:40] felt that energy went and saved the

[22:43] spaniard

[22:44] from the mayans took him to his village

[22:46] and gave him food

[22:48] given you know nourishment got him back

[22:51] and then they begin to communicate they

[22:53] both started learning each other's

[22:54] language now the good spaniard

[22:57] speak mayan and they were intrigued with

[23:01] each other's worlds

[23:02] because they were both half living in

[23:04] integrity so

[23:06] the river man began teaching the way of

[23:08] the shamanism the nagalism to the

[23:10] spaniard and he was so intrigued and

[23:13] they took him to the

[23:14] top of a mountain where he found his

[23:16] epiphany and took him to the river where

[23:18] we found his goddess

[23:19] and he explained his whole story about

[23:21] forgiveness

[23:22] and this banner was just in all his

[23:24] heart was never been is open before the

[23:26] clarity

[23:27] of the whole life and the divine so when

[23:29] they went back home

[23:30] they found that the you know the

[23:33] spaniard has been hiding escaping he's

[23:34] been hiding there so they burned the

[23:35] whole village

[23:36] so these banners felt so guilty skill

[23:39] may take my life to go why

[23:40] they killed your family life for life no

[23:42] you don't understand

[23:44] everything i've been teaching you is not

[23:46] only about the spanish and the mayan

[23:48] separated it's about togetherness don't

[23:50] let me take you to the top of the

[23:51] mountain

[23:51] they took them to the top of the

[23:52] mountain they made a beautiful serving

[23:53] for the loved ones

[23:55] knowing that they're in a better place

[23:57] but he

[23:58] was teaching now the spaniard how does

[24:00] it matter what civilization you come

[24:02] from

[24:02] what world you come from what you know

[24:06] tribe you come from there's negativity

[24:09] and positivity

[24:10] in every in race in every land there is

[24:13] that dream of the infections

[24:14] of the greed and that's the fungus of

[24:17] the human mind

[24:18] when they feel fear grow something about

[24:20] insecurity

[24:21] they want to possess worlds nothing is

[24:23] enough because their god is the god of

[24:25] war

[24:26] so we make peace right now and that's

[24:29] the most beautiful

[24:30] honoring that the river man was sharing

[24:33] the old man was sharing to the young man

[24:34] that was me

[24:35] he was sharing the story that two

[24:38] civilizations

[24:38] that fight each other can make peace

[24:41] because there's goodness in all of them

[24:43] and each tribe is a whole world so in

[24:46] every person there's goodness and

[24:48] there's wounds so when we begin

[24:49] shape-shifting in life when seeing this

[24:51] we can transform our whole life and in

[24:53] that moment the

[24:54] the young man which is me in this story

[24:56] woke up and he was so happy because he

[24:58] has to appear to me he hasn't had to

[25:00] find the river man

[25:01] to learn from him because he already

[25:02] gave him the most beautiful gift

[25:04] another chance to live life and of

[25:07] course the old man wasn't there anymore

[25:08] he disappeared

[25:09] so he began saying thank you old man

[25:12] thank you

[25:12] i don't care to meet the river man

[25:14] anymore you save my life in the trees

[25:16] begin whispering in gratitude

[25:17] so he went to the river where he fell

[25:19] you know when the

[25:21] light broke his fall and he looked into

[25:23] the river and he found

[25:25] the river man because the young man when

[25:27] he kissed the ground

[25:29] with gratitude to be alive and when he

[25:31] came and kissed the ground

[25:33] he saw the moon like shining and when he

[25:36] saw the moonlight shining

[25:37] it was a beautiful image because he saw

[25:40] the goddess excel inside the moon but it

[25:43] also saw

[25:44] something powerful the bunny that's

[25:47] inside the moon

[25:48] it was the river man the energy that

[25:51] protects

[25:52] the goddess in this lifetime and it's a

[25:55] symbol like a flag on top of a sky

[25:58] the moon has a little rabbit and a

[26:00] goddess inside which represents

[26:02] no different from the version of the

[26:04] lupine the little angel no different

[26:06] from

[26:06] you know the hindu goddess in the tiger

[26:09] it is the energy

[26:11] that is ruthless that is the jaguar

[26:13] protecting the cub

[26:15] and then the young man in the story

[26:19] felt that completion and as he looked

[26:20] down he found the river man

[26:22] he found who saved them from the river

[26:25] because the moon was reflecting the

[26:27] water

[26:27] and the water became a mirror so it was

[26:29] always itself

[26:33] he woke up and said thank you to life

[26:35] climb the

[26:37] mountain and said i don't know if the

[26:40] stars are perceiving me i'm not

[26:41] perceiving the stars

[26:42] but inside the cave which is its own

[26:44] mind and with the light illuminated the

[26:45] whole cave

[26:46] and that is when the little children

[26:48] came uncle

[26:50] what are you doing and how you're doing

[26:51] it and why are you doing it

[26:53] and the uncle responded do you really

[26:56] want to know

[26:57] and this is the story about life the

[26:59] story about the ancient ones

[27:01] we get lost by the dream with the wounds

[27:04] but then we have an epiphany

[27:06] to resurrect and change our story

[27:09] and let's say imagine that i'm in the

[27:11] middle of a river

[27:13] and i'm seeing what the river you know

[27:15] gave me it gave me this beautiful ring

[27:17] let's say represents a whole life and

[27:20] i'm

[27:20] nurturing it but all of a sudden there's

[27:22] an earthquake i lose my balance

[27:24] and the current reversal strong that i

[27:26] drop it and i

[27:27] drop it and then the current take it

[27:29] away so i'm turning

[27:31] behind me to see what the river took

[27:32] away people come to me and says jose

[27:35] jose

[27:35] come back to life and no no no you don't

[27:37] understand the river took this away from

[27:39] me

[27:40] when am i going to have the realization

[27:42] that the river took something away from

[27:44] me because something

[27:45] is about to come to me and if i focus my

[27:48] attention to whatever took away

[27:50] i will be a victim complaining what life

[27:52] took away from me

[27:53] instead of what life is bringing me

[27:54] today

[27:56] and what life is bringing me today is a

[27:58] new story a new opportunity to grow

[28:01] to make a new agreement of love in my

[28:04] life

[28:05] and this is the story of my own dream

[28:08] like you have the story of your own

[28:09] dream but imagine

[28:11] if we take the opportunity to open up

[28:14] and take care

[28:15] of our garden of our own individual

[28:17] garden

[28:18] and then go into the table into the

[28:21] garden of dreams and put our dreams

[28:22] together

[28:24] this is the elder's way the elders

[28:27] desired

[28:27] wish and the elders wish is for one

[28:30] humanity to become one

[28:32] the first thing we need to do is to

[28:35] become one in our own head

[28:37] to be impeccable with our word

[28:40] and with our impeccability of the word

[28:42] see the story of our life

[28:45] and make the decision make the decision

[28:50] what are we going to support in our life

[28:53] and what are we going to stop supporting

[28:55] this is the jaguars way

[28:59] taking care of the jungle the mind so

[29:01] what the river took away

[29:03] let's give gratitude because if they

[29:05] didn't take it away it means

[29:06] they would never come to us like the

[29:08] river took away

[29:09] you know a few uncles this year he took

[29:12] away

[29:13] my grandparents he took away my

[29:15] stepmother my best friend

[29:18] but they're here

[29:21] i make the best out of it because like i

[29:24] said the last time

[29:25] when you have 500 ancestors walking

[29:28] behind you

[29:29] it's very important that you take care

[29:32] of yourself

[29:33] to take care of the body of your love

[29:34] because who wants

[29:36] to put your ancestors in a cage within

[29:39] you

[29:40] i let my ancestors free as i let myself

[29:43] free

[29:44] honoring them and when i honor them i

[29:46] honor myself

[29:48] we all will wake up from this illusion

[29:50] sooner or later

[29:51] but when i say to you once you wake up

[29:55] you can never go back to sleep and your

[29:59] love

[30:00] will guide you to never doubt your love

[30:03] your love is the light that illuminates

[30:05] the caves your light is the one that

[30:07] loons

[30:08] and becomes one with everything you know

[30:11] many people said jose i love your energy

[30:12] you have strong energy

[30:14] it's just respect when you have respect

[30:17] you have the celestial fire to connect

[30:19] with other celestial fire and become one

[30:21] fire

[30:21] one dream and here we are illuminating

[30:24] our own path

[30:26] the river man the river woman is

[30:28] ourselves when we find the strength

[30:30] in ourselves knowing that it's not in

[30:32] the story we don't need no story to be

[30:34] free

[30:35] what we need is the story to inspire us

[30:38] for the motivation to make our life a

[30:41] masterpiece of

[30:41] us and the art inside of us

[30:46] will be expanded like a projector

[30:49] everywhere you go could you imagine

[30:51] there's a walking projector

[30:55] inside of you and it's projecting love

[30:58] wherever you go

[30:59] that is your presence so when your loved

[31:01] one sees you happy

[31:02] that is your true essence you know what

[31:06] i mean

[31:07] when the wounds get us it's real

[31:11] it's real but if we keep putting more

[31:13] firewood into the flame

[31:15] the wounds will only become bigger and

[31:17] it's time to stop supporting

[31:20] the false idols the fake gods i'm not

[31:22] talking about religious persons no

[31:24] i'm talking about stories that don't

[31:27] allow us to expand anymore

[31:29] i will no longer support story poor jose

[31:32] you got the abuse all poor jose you were

[31:33] drunk gotta go poor jose poor you know

[31:35] forget that all that made me strong

[31:38] to find the jaguar medicine to overcome

[31:41] whatever i need to overcome

[31:43] to take care of the love of my life

[31:45] because i'm

[31:46] a character in this story of life

[31:50] that has his own will to change his own

[31:52] story

[31:53] when he needs self-support then guess

[31:56] what

[31:57] i have good news you also have that

[32:00] strength

[32:01] that will when you decide to have that

[32:04] determination to let go whatever's

[32:05] stopping you

[32:08] because you have your own

[32:11] key to illuminate and the time is now

[32:15] and we're ready for the change

[32:19] forget a special date to take action

[32:24] the special date is when you realize it

[32:26] and there is no time to waste because

[32:28] time is the most precious thing

[32:31] in this beautiful life because when

[32:34] there's time

[32:34] we're still here because this is the

[32:36] dream of time

[32:38] the dream of patience plant the seed

[32:42] go and do something else but return to

[32:44] nurture it give it

[32:46] love and it will grow and one day we

[32:48] will not be here physically

[32:50] but the seed that we planted it will

[32:52] still be here because that's life

[32:54] because we're live fed by life

[32:57] feeding life creating life is all

[33:01] us the jaguar is home

[33:06] when you breathe inside

[33:09] attach and when you're ready to detach

[33:13] let that breath go and the air

[33:17] has stories too don't suffocate

[33:20] with one story your heart

[33:24] is meant to shine for a whole lifetime

[33:28] it's not about age when the candle burns

[33:32] because when we want transformation

[33:35] when the candle is still lit there's

[33:37] still time to make the change

[33:39] and the lit candle it has the symbol

[33:43] of life and our candle is lit

[33:48] full of love celestial fire and support

[33:52] and remember shape-shifting is important

[33:54] shape-shifting is to understand other

[33:56] worlds

[33:57] other dreams inside this whole world

[34:00] because every mind is a world through

[34:02] their seven billions of dreams

[34:04] seven billions point of view of the

[34:07] truth

[34:08] and that's the whole respect for the

[34:10] artist

[34:11] have everybody have their point of view

[34:13] and respect it

[34:15] so ours can be respected as well and

[34:17] when we know our story will not respect

[34:19] it in a situation

[34:21] why talk about it at all when people

[34:24] debate sometimes

[34:25] it will not go anywhere

[34:28] when people witness inspiration

[34:32] is about to grow like a pyramid above

[34:34] another pyramid

[34:35] above another pyramid and to this

[34:37] pyramid it is

[34:38] all about the gratitude to being alive

[34:42] because when you're grateful to be alive

[34:44] then your story will be a masterpiece of

[34:47] art a story that you don't want to ever

[34:49] run away from

[34:50] because it's all your story and you hear

[34:53] that how powerful it is

[34:54] to not want to run away from your own

[34:56] story that you created

[35:04] love your story love your life love for

[35:07] life

[35:08] and when we have love for life it equals

[35:10] freedom

[35:11] because we will not waste it or

[35:12] sacrifice it for anything

[35:14] we will protect life like it's a jungle

[35:18] and the jungle is inside of our mind

[35:20] that's why

[35:21] i used the the analogy

[35:25] the metaphor of the jaguar not because i

[35:27] gave my power to the jaguar because the

[35:29] jaguar doesn't even know that i'm alive

[35:32] the jaguar does what he wants to do i'm

[35:35] just using it to inspire myself

[35:37] and i can't wait for this year to

[35:40] introduce the new power animal books to

[35:42] everybody

[35:43] for the shaman trilogy books and i'm

[35:45] just full of gratitude for another

[35:47] opportunity

[35:48] to serve our queen and our queen is

[35:50] mother earth

[35:51] and it all begins within us in the

[35:54] outside

[35:54] so let the river flow let the river run

[35:58] let the river take away whatever is

[35:59] going to take away and let the river

[36:02] bring whatever is going to bring us

[36:03] today and we will accept it

[36:05] and let go with love and understanding

[36:08] remember

[36:08] we don't have to have a garage or a

[36:10] closet full of stuff that we don't use

[36:12] no

[36:12] let's let go of that let's fill that

[36:15] space with things that we use

[36:17] things that make us motivate ourselves

[36:20] and when we're done with that we

[36:22] continue that's why i love

[36:24] the sun mandala ceremony the tibetan san

[36:27] mandala they spent days

[36:29] hours making with dust of colors this

[36:32] beautiful

[36:32] you know image of the doorway to

[36:36] to the infinite i know it's just

[36:37] beautiful you know like flowers

[36:39] but then when they're done they do a

[36:40] prayer and go the same thing is about

[36:43] life

[36:44] our life is a sad mandala we do

[36:46] everything so beautifully

[36:48] created but at the end we let it go

[36:50] because

[36:51] our soul is not in the art a piece of it

[36:54] is

[36:54] because we created but it's not there

[36:56] the source that created

[36:58] our art is not there the source of our

[37:00] art is our spirit

[37:02] so whatever life takes away

[37:05] pieces of art paintings it's okay let it

[37:07] go you can still paint

[37:08] more in life here what i mean you can

[37:11] still create

[37:12] you can still create a new story for

[37:13] your life the one

[37:15] that you're protecting doesn't serve you

[37:17] anymore it's cold it's when you have a

[37:19] bad tooth

[37:20] and that tooth is hurting you why you

[37:23] want to keep that bad tooth

[37:24] putting poison all around you say thank

[37:26] you for everything you did to me

[37:28] but it's time for you the service has

[37:30] end

[37:31] put sleep and this is when we realize

[37:34] how things

[37:35] of service and in even material things

[37:37] in our life

[37:39] this car i had it for 10 years okay

[37:42] thank you for everywhere you took me

[37:44] it's just a metaphor

[37:46] because this body also is one of the

[37:49] greatest vehicles

[37:50] why because it allows us to feel

[37:53] love i'm grateful to this body because

[37:56] it allows me to build up

[37:57] if something bad happened today okay it

[38:00] happened something bad but

[38:01] i still feel loved so i'm so grateful

[38:03] for another opportunity

[38:05] to be alive remember shape shifting is

[38:08] not about changing your face

[38:09] it's about holding your story and not

[38:11] invading it listening to new stories

[38:13] and then later you can translate from

[38:15] the heart

[38:16] well i let you i've already talked a lot

[38:20] today

[38:20] and i feel so gratitude for this new

[38:23] year

[38:24] a time for a new story a time for a new

[38:26] dream

[38:27] and a time for this character of the

[38:29] story to live its dreams

[38:34] shiva shakti to spirit amen i see you

[38:38] next monday all my love gratitude

[38:41] remember

[38:42] plant a seed and a seed will grow a seed

[38:45] will grow

[38:45] to become the art that you offer to life

[38:49] we are the seeds and when we take action

[38:51] we have something to give

[38:53] to the altar of life

[38:56] i give from our heart

[39:02] quali quality

Shape-shifting is the ability to witness your own belief system and worldview without needing to impose it on others. It means holding your beliefs lightly, using them to understand rather than to control, and remaining fluid and respectful as you move through different people's worlds and perspectives.
When you trust your inner self fully and live without judgment, you no longer need to fear others' stories or judgments directed at you. The people who judge most harshly are often those ruled by fear; when you step out of fear, you naturally stop projecting judgment onto others.
Yes—every day is a new year and a new life. The moment you become aware that a relationship or situation no longer serves you, you have the power to change the character of your story and refuse to continue living that narrative, regardless of past investment.
The jaguar spirit teaches that when you are centered and trust yourself, no matter what life throws at you, it is still life—not a personal attack. The jaguar does not dramatize or lose its centeredness; it meets challenges with presence and knows its power is intact.
Every time you live authentically and create with intention and passion, you are adding your dream to the shared reality. The more people who trust themselves and live truthfully, the more the collective dream shifts toward alignment and authenticity.
You can honor another person's right to believe what they choose without making their belief your own. This is the shape-shifter's way: you observe, understand, and respect their world while maintaining your own center and truth.
Mistakes are part of perfection, not flaws to be ashamed of. The real power lies in becoming aware of the mistake and choosing to change your story in response. Awareness transforms a mistake into a lesson and an opportunity to alter your character.
